Looking past the disappointment

There are many disappointments in this life. Chances are right now you are experiencing one, whether big or small. When disappointment comes we naturally shrink back and either get angry or sad. We blame others or point the finger. We question God and all His promises.

But come before the foot of the cross right now.
Imagine kneeling at it as Jesus hangs there, dying, covered in blood, so that RIGHT NOW, you can choose something besides your own disappointment- hope because of your faith in God's promises to you. That is why Jesus died so many years ago, for this moment right now. Because He is working all this awful, hard, strenuous situation around you into the good that He wants to give you in your future, but you have to trust in that even when it all feels awful.

You do not have to stay in the hopelessness of your disappointment, in the discouragement. You CAN grab faith. Jesus made the way for each of us every day to have the opportunity to grab a hold of faith and hope.

{As Christine Cain said:}
"One indication that we are not pressing on and serving the Lord at full throttle is when we start to stiffen and refuse to continue to stretch, enlarging our personal capacity. We settle at our current level and no longer lean into the challenge and discomfort of stretching. If we allow ourselves to get too comfortable and stiff, never wanting to stretch into new levels of life, we will hinder so much of what God has planned for us. He has great exploits for us to accomplish, but it's up to us to keep growing, changing and enlarging if we want to see these plans come to pass. Let's be determined to stay flexible, ready and willing to step out in FAITH and step into God's great promises and plans for our lives."

Listen to this song and let the words wash over you. He is the LIVING GOD and no problem or disappointment is too large for Him. Take heart, be encouraged. Let hope abound and break our chains! Let the walls fall down! Let faith rise up in Jesus' Name! As you draw nearer to us!!

Proverbs 16:1 "The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answers of the tongue is from the Lord."

2 Timothy 4:17 "But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me..."

My child,

Its okay to be disappointed, I feel your struggles of living in this world full of hard times and things that are not easy. However, it is not my intent for you to stay there! No! You have hope and therefore you can pick up faith and the joy of My Presence which is always with you, regardless! Because you have Me on your side, who truly does care about you. Just like a parent with their child, although bad happens My compassion for you is great and I will rescue you. Don't give up, don't grow faint. Look to me on, come to the foot of the cross daily and lay it all down before Me. There I will then be able to give you faith and hope.
Love,
Your Daddy in Heaven

Training

"I have to do this and that and this and that. Oh, and I can't forget to do that. Sure, I can do that. Well, I have to do this first then I can do that..."

PAUSE. {Selah}

When you focus on your accomplishments, goals, & plans first instead of the Father's heart you open up the door to anxiety and worry. You are not humbling yourself, but focusing on yourself and all that you "need" to get done. Train your eyes, heart, and mind to seek the Father's heart above all else, even your to-do list. Just as Peter was able to walk on the water first because his focus was not on how he would/could do it. Then when he realized what he was doing, taking his eyes off Jesus and placing his focus and mind on how he would accomplish his mission, he sunk.

Each day YOU have the opportunities to TRAIN your mind and heart to seek God and not your own plans.

T- Thanksgiving
Psalm 50:23 "But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors Me. If you keep to My path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God."

R- Remembrance& Repentance
Isaiah 42:6 "I am the Lord, I have called you in righteousness, I will also hold you by the hand and watch over you..."

Isaiah 44:22 "I have wiped out your transgressions (sins) like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. RETURN to Me, for I have redeemed you."

A- Acceptance (humility)
Isaiah 55:8-9 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."

I- Intentionality
Matthew 14:28-29 "Peter said to Him, 'Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.' And He said,'Come!' And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus."

N- No fear (rebuke the lies & trust in God's promises)
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear (timidity or cowardice), but of power, love and sound mind (sound judgement)."

My precious child,

Why do you think that I haven't seen the pain you have been in? I see you and My heart breaks, but hold on, I will bring hope and relief. I am training you. Be intentional to dwell on Me and My promises for you now, and rebuke any fear, that is never from Me. I am patient, kind and gentle. "Too late" is never in my vocabulary so you need not to worry my child. Don't grow faint, but lean on Me and be strengthened. It will not always make sense or "feel good" in the moment, but you know that in the end it will be the only thing that will help you and keep you safe.

Love,
Your Heavenly Father
